MAYBELLINE PRIMER- Who has not heard of Maybelline and its products having amazing results and affordable prices. If you are a Maybelline fanatic like me then you must have tried its products. Maybelline foundations and mascaras are something every girl is crazy about. But this time I wanted to try its famous Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer to see how it works for me.
I know some people who completely skip primer in their makeup routine but I consider primer the most important thing in my makeup routine. It preps skin well for foundation application and increases the staying power of the foundation. Also, it gives a smooth finish to my makeup making it look flawless. I always search for a good primer that suits my skin. Most products I use in my makeup routine are Maybelline products so I searched for its primer and came across this little cute primer
I bought it and was super excited to try it. I tested it out and will be sharing my experience using Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer.
MAYBELLINE BABY SKIN INSTANT PORE ERASER PRIMER:
- Packaging: cute little plastic tube- travel friendly
- Consistency: clear, gel form, lightweight
- Price: 850 PKR
MY EXPERIENCE WITH MAYBELLINE BABY SKIN INSTANT PORE ERASER PRIMER:
My skin type: I have combination skin (sometimes more oily, sometimes drier, or both and sensitive too. Most of the time products react on my skin causing irritation or redness. So I always try to choose the best product for my skin that I can add to my daily routine
Packaging: It comes in really cute, attractive packaging (light blue colored). I couldn't resist adding it to my makeup routine. But the problem is it has very little quantity and if used on daily basis for college, university or office then finishes quickly.
Texture and Consistency: It dispenses as a clear gel. When I first applied it to my skin, it felt very light on the skin like I have applied nothing to my skin. It doesn't feel greasy at all on my skin and absorbs quickly into the skin.
RESULTS:
Did it live up to its claims???
I really had high expectations of it when used it for the first time. I applied a little amount of it to prep my skin for makeup. But a little amount of it is not enough I always had to use a pretty well amount of it to prep my skin well.
Though I don't have any pores issues when sometimes more visible I applied it there a little more. The very fast thing it claims is an instant pore eraser was proven wrong, it never erased or hide any of my pores. No matter how many times I used it the results were always the same. I specifically use a primer before the foundation so that my foundation stays on for a long time. But It didn't even aid in this.
It smoothens skin for foundation application but after some time my foundation breaks out around my nose, chin, and forehead. It doesn't cause any irritation to my skin. It feels very light on the skin and mattifies the skin, the only thing I was happy with.
I used different other primers but they worked for me quite well. I wasn't happy at all with its results. What it did was only smoothens skin and after sometimes it completely disappears. Any good moisturizer can do that. Why use primer then?
I have an oily T Zone, it didn't seem to control oil in these areas, and also it didn't make my foundation stay for a long time. Sometimes when my skin is drier, I applied it more to my face, and still, it was hard to blend out my foundation. And after applying foundation over it, dry patches and lines were all visible.
There are many best primers available in the market that do all these things well for the skin. I regret using it.
PROS:
- Inexpensive
- travel friendly
- cute packaging
- smoothens and mattifies skin
- feels light on the skin
- causes no irritation to skin
CONS:
- doesn't erase any pores
- people with dry skin should stay away from using this
- little amount
RECOMMENDED OR NOT?
Maybelline pore minimizing primer might work for some people but for me, it never worked. You can try it if you love Maybelline products but there are many best primers available in the market which you can easily get for the same price or less. Oily skin people can use it in their makeup routine if they want to but people with dry skin should never consider this. They should look for a better primer that preps skin well for foundation application.
